CANADIAN MUSICIANS FOR LIBERTY - Beginning at 12:00 noon on Sunday, October 21, 2001 till Midnight on October 28, 2001.  In order to raise funds for the People of America, who are in need of our support, Musicians from all over the country donated their talents to set try and set 3 GUINESS WORLD RECORDs for the longest NON-OP performance. ( 7 days and 7 nights, 181 hours straight). CANADIAN MUSICIANS FOR LIBERTY reached it's goal at 12 Midnight October 28th, 2001. All proceeds from this event were donated to the Canadian Red Cross Relief Fund For New York City. It all took place at Touchdowns Bar & Grill in Mississauga and was kicked off by CTV late night television personality Mike Bullard. The first act was non other then the "Geritol Gypsy" himself, Ronnie Hawkins.  Chuck Jackson, donated his time as the music coordinator and also performed with the Marauders and Downchild Blues Band.  Other acts included the Mickael Pickett Band, Virgil Scott, Orin Issac Band, Big Daddy G, Susie McNeil, Jeff Healey, Jerome Godboo, Robbie Rox, The Patti Janetta Band, Paul James, Johnny Max Band, The Frank Cosentino Band, Bill Candy,and The Five Man Electrical Band  just to name a few and so many many more. Their was live coverage on Toronto's Star TV, and a live internet webcast at www.cmfl-td.com (now discontinued). On , Friday, October 26th, CFRB 1010 broacast live on location from 5:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. and featured Ted Woloshyn in a live radio interview with Mississauga Mayor Hazel McCallion and Toronto rock & roll legond Ronie Hawkins. At 8:00 a.m. that same morning Wayne Buttery and The Groove Project were proud to be a part of history by performing for this great event, "CANADIAN MUSICIANS FOR LIBERTY". We would like to thank Terry D. Lane of TDL Entertainment for putting the whole event together. Imagine she did it in just 7 days.  From the Website to the Production. 1204 Musicians later ; 24/7 she worked for the musicians to get the job done.    Congradulations Ms. TD. Lane; Founder and Producer for a job well done ... and as Terry would say its a Team Effort Don't forget the Volunteers who donated their time and the Sponsors who donated the equipment.  Nothing gets done alone .. The TEAM did it all.
